Dr. Ferre is unquestionably an excellent doctor. But above and beyond that, she is the most compassionate and committed doctor I have ever met. Those of us who are facing illness, including life-threatening illness, need the best medical care we can find—care that relates to us as a whole person not only physically, but also emotionally, mentally and spiritually. However, all too often we find physicians who are distant, aloof, and/or unavailable, and it is just at the time when we most need sincere support. For illness is usually not only an imbalance of the body but, more often than not, a crisis of our emotions and our spirituality. And so a healthy, deeply caring relationship with our doctor can contribute much to our healing. Very few doctors seem to understand and practice this; so, although they may be good doctors, they lack an essential element to be real healers. Not only is Dr. Ferre a stellar doctor, but she is also a true healer. Her bright mind is only matched by her exquisite heart.
